Thanasis Α. Rousopoulos


Thanasis was born in 1977 and is admitted to practice law in Greece (Supreme Court) and New York, U.S.A. Before joining Major & Grove in April 2019, he served as Legal Counsel (2004-2010) and General Counsel (2010-2019) of Thenamaris (Ships Management) Inc.

Thanasis focuses on all areas of shipping law including corporate law, corporate governance, the design and implementation of corporate structures, tax, banking, S&P and regularly advises owners, ship managers, brokers and traders. He handles dry and wet shipping matters and claims regularly appearing before Greek Courts in shipping litigation matters, carrying out end-to-end LMAA and other arbitration proceedings and coordinating complex international litigation.

Thanasis also has significant experience in the handling and negotiation of complex investment projects, joint ventures, M&A, real estate, and commercial and civil law transactions. At the same time, his practice includes civil and commercial dispute resolution and enforcement as well as a wide range of tax matters, including tax planning, succession planning and handling of tax audits. As part of his legal practice Thanasis advises private clients on a variety of personal, family, succession, investment and tax matters.
